Stop waiting for things to happen. Start taking control of your life.
Work with me to figure out what matters to you, dream bigger than you thought possible, set your intention, and take action. Whether you’re looking to improve how you lead your business or lead your life, you’ll be amazed by what you will accomplish with an experienced coach by your side. Here are some ways you might know it’s a good time to hire a coach:
You’re ready to play big and take your leadership to the next level.
You’re sick of feeling burned out, stuck, or lost.
You’re craving a fulfilling career, one that’s aligned with what matters most to you.
You’re eager to make smarter, braver decisions.
You’re longing to make a huge positive impact on the people around you.
You’re seeking balance, sustainability, and self-care in your life.
You’re motivated to become the kind of person who does what they say they will.
You’re excited to show up as the best, most confident version of yourself.
I’ll support you every step along the way by guiding your discovery, celebrating your successes, holding you accountable, and helping you capture all that you’re learning. But you’re the owner of your growth. You’ve got to be willing to do the work: to look inward, take risks, and honor the commitments you make to yourself.
My clients work at some of the largest companies in the world, including Google, Apple, Facebook, and Mars, as well as startups and nationally recognized nonprofit organizations. I’d love to help you lead more powerfully, too, and learn so much more about yourself in the process.
Frequently Asked Questions
+ What is coaching anyway?
The International Coach Federation captures it pretty nicely: “Coaching is partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.”
I practice a method called Co-Active Coaching. Here’s how the Co-Active Training Institute, where I studied, describes it: “Co-Active helps you stretch your sightline, get out of your comfort zone, and grow along the way. It’s a way to better understand your own journey — to help you design your own life’s quest by rediscovering your courage to be the one you want to be, in order to create what you want to create.”
+ What’s the difference between coaching and mentoring?
Generally speaking, mentors give you advice based on their own experience. Coaches use powerful questions and deep listening to help you turn inward, so you can use the confidence, wisdom, and intuition you already possess to change your life. Using my training as a Co-Active Coach, I’ll help you tune into what you really want, guide you past your self-limiting beliefs, and support you every step along the way.
+ Do you offer executive coaching?
Absolutely! I create highly customized development programs that will turbocharge your leadership and deliver big results for your organization. For executives, I offer mentoring in addition to coaching, leveraging my two decades of overseeing global storytelling initiatives, building high-performance teams, and advising senior executives at Apple, Google, and the Los Angeles Times. Some of my offerings include:
- Executive coaching to expand your range, strategic vision, focus, and performance
- Stakeholder interviews and 360-degree feedback reports to understand your impact, leadership strengths, and growth areas
- Communications training to improve your presence, connection, and influence
- Alignment with business goals and objectives to improve your results
- Employee-engagement advising to strengthen your organization’s culture and core values
Let me help you lead at your best, find joy and sustainability in your work, and play much bigger.
+ What are your credentials?
I’m a Co-Active Coach, trained in the classrooms of the prestigious Co-Active Training Institute in San Rafael, California. I’m a member of the International Coach Federation. And I walk the walk, working with my own coach so I continue to grow, for myself and for my clients.
I also bring two decades of leadership and communications experience to my coaching work. As a director at Apple and senior manager at Google, I oversaw global storytelling campaigns around sustainability and privacy; built and led high-performing teams; and advised senior executives on how to communicate and inspire more effectively. Before that, I covered the news and culture of Silicon Valley for the Los Angeles Times, Boston Globe, and New York Times. I hold a Master’s in Journalism from UC Berkeley. In addition to my coaching practice, I currently consult for X, Alphabets's moonshot factory. There I help leaders of its early-stage projects articulate and communicate their vision, and I advise on sustainability communications strategy.
+ What’s your process?
We’ll begin by getting crystal clear on the primary focus of our work. Next we’ll spend time connecting into your most deeply held values, identifying and neutralizing the negative thoughts that hold you back, and expanding your sense of what’s possible. After that, in each conversation you’ll choose a topic where you’re motivated to drive change, and we’ll coach you to envision the transformation and take action toward it. That might mean dreaming up a bolder mission for your business, starting a digital detox to strengthen your concentration, preparing for a job interview, or getting your fitness or meditation routine back on track. Coaching is about what you want to accomplish.
+ Will I have homework?
Yes. Agreeing to specific actions between conversations allows you to apply the insights from our conversations to your daily life, deepen your self-awareness, and honor your commitments. So much of the growth happens between coaching conversations.
+ What’s the time commitment?
My clients commit to a six-month body of work, so they can really go for it. It takes time to make the kind of bold, lasting change that they’re craving. After six months, we can discuss whether to wrap up our work or continue month-to-month.
Usually we’ll meet for 2.5 hours total during the first month, to get acquainted and co-design our work, then two hours during each subsequent month. Coaching conversations are held by phone or videoconference. You’ll also commit to assignments between conversations to deepen your learning and take action toward your goals.
+ Where do you meet with clients?
Like many coaches, I meet with most of my clients via phone or videoconference. It’s convenient and effective.
+ How much do you charge?
I charge a monthly fee which includes 1:1, highly personalized coaching; digital check-ins to share useful resources and help you stay on track; and access to me between coaching conversations as needed. Schedule a free chemistry conversation so you can see if we’re a good fit and discuss pricing.
+ How can I tell if we’re a good fit?
I’m so glad you asked! Chemistry is everything in coaching. That’s why I offer free conversations so we can see if we're a good match. Sign up today.
